Description

Spiegelei by Luke Wilson on Thursday 29.7. 17:00 Specialshow

Spiegelei Entropy is a one-way street, and we have no brakes and a floored gas pedal. Juggling clubs. Rubik's cubes. Teabags. When do foreign objects become everyday tools? When does an everyday tool become part of our bodies? What is perfection? What is normality? Is the need to juggle about controlling the elements, or about submitting to chaos? Can we create pockets of clarity, of safety, within our lives? If we decide the rules, who is to say what is failure? Or what is success? Is this just my life, or is it all lifes? Does it matter if I catch? Does it matter if I throw? Does it matter if anyone is watching? Are you watching?

I am watching.

REFLEX by Jay Gilligan and Erik Nilson on Thursday 29.7. 17:00 Specialshow

REFLEX, a company defined in the genre of new circus, captures the future of juggling art performance with real juggling. Reflex is not a video game, it is really happening in the moment, rightt in front of the audience. The challenges faced are immediate, resulting in reaching the concrete limits within the construction of a human body. Nothing on stage breathes in the security of being pre-recorded or edited after the fact. This long form improvisation drives the two artists to physical and mental exhaustion. The audience is taken along on the ride, living vicariously through the players, who perform until they cannot go on any longer. There are no apologies, if a beat is missed, a bll dropped, life must go on and so goes the show. It is through the split second solutions, fixing the problems caused by these natural flaws, that a strange humanity emerges from the spectacular tecnique. The show creates an enciroment in which anything is possible and its an experience that is unique and unrepeteatable. A surprise is not an effect, it is a constant and neccessary state for the effectivness of the work.

Reflex is the result of a lifetime of work, harnessing two artists in their prime.

Impossible is an extremely limiting word...

The show is directed by jay Gilligan, everything else is made by Jay and Erik together.
